Your home before a trip: five checks
Check safeguards and agree who responds to a problem. Camera recordings alone are not a response plan.

Review the essentials
Check locks, windows and gates, access to recordings, alarm notifications and a trusted contact. Coordinate alarm tests with the monitoring operator where applicable.

Agree how to respond
Your contact should know whom to call and what they are authorised to do. If a break-in is suspected, do not enter or send a neighbour inside. Contact the Police; call 112 in immediate danger.

Keep travel plans private
Limit public posts revealing when your home is empty. I can review CCTV and alarms or prepare a home security plan before your trip.
